How dust particles inside your case cause permanent frame pitting

Have you ever removed your phone cover and noticed tiny white dots or scratches on the metal rails? These are dust scratches inside case borders, known as pitting.

When fine sand particles enter the case, daily vibration grinds them against the phone's aluminum or titanium frame.

To prevent pitting, clean the inside of your case weekly, or choose cases with soft microfiber linings that trap dust.
